WORSHIP MINISTRY

 

The Worship Ministry is assigned the purpose of worship.  Their job is to assist the Senior Pastor in planning and overseeing 9:30 AM worship service, special worship emphases and events, such as Advent, Lent, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Black History Month, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Watch Night, All Saints Day…and to assist the Music Director to provide music and worship resources to the rest of the church.

 

The ministries included on this team are Worship Committee, Praise Dancers, Mimes, Ushers, Communion Stewards, Musicians, and Acolytes.

 

Passion Palm Sunday: Purpose: To enact Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem and to rehear the passion story. Easter Day and Sunrise Service: Purpose: To celebrate Christ's resurrection. Holy Thursday: Purpose: To celebrate the institution of the Eucharis.Thanksgiving Church Dinner Purpose:  To thank God for our blessings and commemorate our national  heritage. Sundays of Advent Purpose: To prepare for the hope of the coming of Christ.  Christmas Service and Church Dinner: Purpose: To celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  Watch night, December 31 , Purpose: To end the year with prayer and consecration and installation of officers for the coming year.

 

MISSION MINISTRY

The Mission Ministry is assigned the purpose of missions.  This team shall give attention to local and larger community ministries of compassion, justice, advocacy, and bridge events (programs designed to build a bridge between our church and community).The ministries included on this team are Missions Committee, and Higher Education and Campus Ministry.

 

Human Relations Day (offering), Purpose: To further the development of better Human Relations; Offering funds  Community Developers, Voluntary Services and Youth Offenders Rehabilitation. Martin Luther King Jr.s’ Birthday Observance, Purpose: To celebrate Dr. King’s contribution to freedom and equality for all people. Kelley Chapel Food Pantry , Purpose: To feed the hungry at least quarterly. Church of Excellence, Purpose: To be recognize by the North Georgia Conference as a Church of Excellence. One Great Hour of Sharing (Offering), Purpose:  To share the goodness of life with those who hurt; offering funds, programs of relief, rehabilitation and service. 

This Ministry is assigned the purpose of Evangelism.  This team shall give attention to developing and strengthening evangelistic efforts of sharing of personal and congregational stories of Christian experience, faith, and service.  They assist the Senior Pastor in planning for evangelism training and evangelistic activities such as Revival.

 The ministries included on this team are the Evangelism Committee, Transportation Ministry, Communications, Lay Speaking Ministries; and other means that give expression of witness for Jesus Christ.
